  • Rainfall – dry / medium / wet / wetland
  • Tree height desired in 10 & 25 years
  • Hedging, rows or specimen
  • Park, lawn
  • Forest replantings
  • Form—spreading or conical
  • Need for views or light through or past
  • Debris tolerance
  • Birds
  • Timber
